Doing the laundry every week may not seem like a big task in the household list of chores, but when the monthly bills come, it has a lot to say. Laundry requires electricity for the washing machine, for the dryer, and even for the water.

Laundry consumes massive amount of water, plus, the water heating process adds to the energy consumption. It is in fact one of the major factors affecting the increase of your monthly electric bill. Almost 90 per cent of electricity or energy is consumed just by heating water. So, for everyone who's doing their laundry at home, just opt for lukewarm water or cold water, it makes no difference to your clothes, but a lot of difference in your monthly bill.
