I do not like the idea of joining a carpool, even if it means that I am doing the environment a favor of saving it from hazardous car smoke, saving cheap
sum of money for gas, meeting new faces and socializing with long time neighborhood friends, and other crappy and outdated reasons that most people brag on that they want to share a ride with a lot of people.
My annoyance to such
energy saving crap is mainly due to the stingy point of actually sharing a single car with three or more people. I do not care if they're my friends, officemates, or what. I just do not like the idea of a noisy and chattery environment while on the road. I mean, who would want to be distracted while you are driving? You might say that I'm no fun and such a loner. Well, maybe I am, but I certainly do not care, as long as I have my everyday quiet and leisurely drive to wherever destination I wish to go to. Going to the saving fuel and money for gas part, I guess it is indeed a nice way to save gas and money, but hey, if I can still afford to maintain and use my auto, why bother to carpool? Even if I did share a ride with other folks, my beautiful car will definitely get wasted by savage passengers, and I really do not want that for my baby. As for the saving the environment from air pollution crap, thousands of people are already claiming that they are doing everything they can to help save mother Earth. But guess what? Our poor ozone layer in the atmosphere is still deteriorating. So much for goody carpool ideas!
